PickSoEasy Pick and Place Machines - About Us

WHO WE ARE

My name is Maurizio Romano, an Italian in China. I was called here to teach visual communication (multimedia related) in University in 2008, then years went by so fast.... Easy work flow thanks to microcontrollers took me to electronics again... road left after my high-school. My passion is free flight, so, years ago I started to design electronic variometers for paragliding. Here everything related to electronics is economically and logistically accessible. The problem was that to do something professional I needed the support of factories, they could take care of all the PCB soldering... But also here in China this is not a solution for prototyping and small productions... so i started to design Pick and Place Machines myself... My aim for functionality and aesthetic let me naturally tend to grow my projects in a sort of professional way, even though 100 % self built. I think letting other people benefit from my efforts could be useful to many and marginally economically rewarding for me... at least I hope so.

So... many years ago I started to design variometers... However placing the SMD components on the PCB by tweezers or by vacuum pen was a nightmare... Holding the breath and squeezing the eyes... To go really pro I needed a Pick and Place machine... but... the prices for a manual one are high... and also here in China there is nothing good and affordable... I decided to build one myself... I ordered a huge amount of small mechanical pieces to test for the best results... Finally I was able to have a very good and affordable pick and place machine. I could finally breathe and I didn't need to squeeze my eyes... It was so easy. After a few months I thought that other people could benefit from my efforts. PickSoEasy was born!
